Dr. Robert Kratschmer, MD, is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon practicing in the greater Houston area, specifically in Friendswood, TX. His extensive background includes a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University, followed by a career at NASA Johnson Space Center before transitioning to medicine.

Dr. Kratschmer obtained his medical degree from Texas Tech University and completed his general surgery training at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston. He further specialized in acute burn reconstruction at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and completed his plastic surgery training at St. Joseph Medical Center. Since 1999, Dr. Kratschmer has been practicing medicine and established his private practice in 2005.

Dr. Kratschmer offers a wide range of procedures, including breast reconstruction, panniculectomy, breast reduction, wound care, and various cosmetic procedures such as breast augmentation, facelifts, and tummy tucks. He continues to train residents in plastic surgery and serves as an adjunct attending physician for plastic surgery training programs at UTMB-Galveston, UTHSC-Houston, and The Methodist Hospital.

From the moment I walked in(ten minutes late), AMBER made me feel completely at ease. She was warm, professional, and genuine—truly one of the most pleasant medical staff employees I’ve encountered. Everyone was calm, respectful, and SHOCKINGLY pressure-free. The doctor was clearly very knowledgeable and efficient. He did speak quickly, but it came across more as a reflection of his experience and a full schedule rather than any lack of attention. Despite the fast pace, he was fully present during our consultation. He listened intently, made thoughtful eye contact, and answered every one of my questions with clarity and patience. I never felt rushed or dismissed—in fact, I actually felt heard instead of how most doctors make you feel ignorant or beneath them when u try to inquire. What really stood out to me was how gracefully the staff handled the topic of pricing and financing. They didn’t push any information or try to “sell” anything. I had to ask, and when I did, they provided all the details clearly and respectfully. They offered options without making me feel like a decision had to be made right then and there. There was never a moment of pressure—no “When are you booking?” or “Will we hear back?” Just pure professionalism, which made me feel empowered and respected throughout the entire experience. This office sets the bar incredibly high when it comes to patient care/customer service, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I was approved to have surgery and I had many questions so I contacted the office and spoke with Amber, upon her answering you could sense she was already irritated but I still had to ask my questions because this was my first major surgery, well I first stated that I wanted to have my quote changed to just the panni with out the cosmetic add on due to the cost of 7K for FDL tummy tuck being too much for me to cover, then I asked were there results I could look at she said no okay cool, I asked about dog ears and my belly button, then when she told me to review to TT results I told her I was unhappy with what I saw she basically then told me she didn’t understand why it mattered what it would look like because it’s a medically necessary surgery nor for cosmetics (I don’t know about anyone else but knowing how my body may look matters to me) so I responded that I didn’t want to look butchered up and be unhappy and I have that RIGHT! So now today Amber called me to tell me that I am no longer eligible to have surgery with the doctor Robert! I feel like I was targeted because she didn’t like me because how I was asking questions but I’m very straight forward and I feel that I should be able to ask all questions as needed and now I’m unable to have a medically necessary surgery because Amber couldn’t answer whether I would be loosing my belly button or not! Or if I will have dog ears due to the hip to hip cut! I was also told to go based off TT results which is hard to do when your told there won’t be repositioning of your belly button 😮‍💨 I don’t recommend at all if you have to deal with Amber I’m beyond mentally drained! Thank you for also responding to my review stating exactly what I already knew Amber is RACIST and rude and when she is handled the way she handles people she causes a major problem for them AND MAKES IT TO WHERE THEY AREN'T ABLE TO HAVE SURGERY! Funny my surgery was to be done in the HOSPITAL not at their facility and Amber made it to where that is unable to happen now!!

My experience is solely based on the customer service from this office. I wish I had chosen a more caring and communicative surgeon. Every time I reach out with post-surgery questions or concerns, I always feel like a bother to the staff. I understand they deal with these situations daily, but I don’t — and I apologize if my concerns are an inconvenience. That said, Dr. K has been patient and informative during in-office visits, which I appreciate. However, if I could go back in time, I would have trusted the reviews that mentioned poor customer service and invested a little more money to feel valued as a paying client. I do like the outcome of my procedure for the most part. Keep in mind if you scar after your procedure although you mentioned this pre-op- you will have to pay out of pocket for steroid injections. I was NEVER told of any fees related to injections prior to booking. Now, I’m afraid to reach out with ANY questions or concerns because I don’t feel respected or valued as a customer. Keep in mind I’m not even 3 mpo! Don’t get hyped up on the FB group. The office approves the post they want the public to see.
