Dr. Thomas J. Francel is a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in both aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Francel completed his surgical training at Harvard Surgical Services in Boston, Massachusetts, the Royal Aberdeen Infirmary in the United Kingdom, and was a clinical fellow in surgery at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Francel specializes in facial rejuvenation surgery, breast surgery including cancer reconstruction, body contouring surgery, and reconstruction of all cancer deformities. He has published over 25 manuscripts in leading American and international journals and contributed over 19 chapters in 6 Plastic Surgery textbooks. Dr. Francel has been recognized nationally as one of the top plastic surgeons involved with the 20-year FDA study of Silicone Gel Filled Breast Implants. He has also served as an Instructor of Plastic Surgery at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine.
