Arm Lift in Avon by Dr. David Novotny
What is an Arm Lift?
An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that reshapes the under portion of the upper arm, from the underarm region to the elbow. Dr. David Novotny performs this procedure to:
- Reduce excess sagging skin that droops downward when the arm is extended
- Tighten and smooth the underlying supportive tissue that defines the upper arm shape
- Remove localized pockets of fat in the upper arm region, often in conjunction with liposuction techniques
Who Can Benefit from an Arm Lift?
Both men and women may develop conditions treated by brachioplasty, typically due to:
- Loss of skin and tissue elasticity in the upper arm
- Natural changes that occur with aging
- Hereditary factors
- A combination of these factors
The Arm Lift Consultation Process
A consultation with Dr. Novotny is the first step in learning how arm lift surgery can help achieve smoother, more contoured arms. During this non-pressured consultation, patients can expect:
- A discussion of individual goals and case evaluation
- An overview of arm lift surgery options
- Information on likely outcomes and potential risks or complications
- A recommended course of treatment
- Answers to any questions about the procedure
The Arm Lift Procedure
An arm lift surgically reshapes the upper arm by reducing excess skin and fat, and tightening the underlying tissue. Incisions are generally placed on the inside of the upper arm and may extend from the underarm (axilla) to just above the elbow. In some cases, incisions may be more limited, depending on the patient's specific conditions.
Arm Lift Results
The smoother, tighter contours resulting from brachioplasty are apparent almost immediately following the procedure, although initial results may be somewhat obscured by swelling and bruising. Patients can expect dramatically improved, shapely, and toned upper arms in both appearance and feel.
