Incision Options

Periareolar (around areola): More concealed scar, potential impact on nipple sensation

Implant Placement Techniques

Submuscular Placement

Placing implants under the pectoralis muscle provides better concealment, especially for patients with minimal natural breast tissue. This technique offers improved mammogram visibility and reduced capsular contracture risks.

Subglandular Placement

Implant placement over the muscle creates a natural breast shape with excellent cleavage. However, this method may result in increased implant visibility and potential palpability.

Implant Types

Saline Implants: Safe, predictable, with immediate absorption if rupture occurs
Silicone Implants: Natural feel, improved safety with cohesive gel technology

Procedural Details

Breast augmentation is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia or controlled IV sedation. Most patients return to normal activities within 48 hours, with complete recovery occurring over several weeks.
