Understanding Neck Lift Procedures

As individuals age, the development of jowls, sagging jawlines, and skin laxity in the upper neck becomes increasingly common. A neck lift offers an excellent solution for patients experiencing these age-related changes, providing a more youthful and refined neck contour.

Neck Lift Candidacy

Neck lift eligibility is not determined by a specific age, but rather by the degree of skin looseness present. Ideal candidates demonstrate significant skin laxity and seek a natural, rejuvenated appearance.

Procedure Overview

  • Involves tightening neck muscles (platysmaplasty)
  • Removes excess skin along the hairline
  • Incisions strategically placed to minimize visible scarring

Surgical Preparation and Technique

DFW Plastic Surgery conducts comprehensive medical evaluations to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. The procedure typically involves:

  • General anesthesia administration
  • Precise incision placement
  • Skin and muscle tightening
  • Potential fatty deposit removal

Surgical Details

The neck lift procedure generally takes up to three hours and may be combined with additional facial rejuvenation techniques. Surgeons focus on creating a natural, harmonious result tailored to each patient's unique facial structure.

Recovery and Results

Patients can expect gradual healing with final results becoming apparent within six months. Initial swelling and discoloration typically subside within two weeks, revealing a more youthful neck contour.

Post-Operative Care Recommendations

  • Pain managed with prescribed oral medications
  • Suture removal within 5-10 days
  • Avoiding direct sun exposure during initial healing

Was not a patient. Called to ask when the first available appointment was and they required my insurance ID information to even tell me when the next availability was. I asked why that was required to check the scheduling calendar and they said we need to see if you require a referral. I said my insurance did not require a referral and was still told that I was required to give insurance info to move forward with the call... I thanked the phone nurse but declined to share that info, and ended the call. I understand getting insurance information to hold/book an appointment, but there can't be a rational explanation for why you can't just tell me the next available appointment without full insurance information including ID number. Might be a good doctor, but horrible office policies.

Bad to very bad patient and medical service at Ft Worth, TX Location. Avoid at all cost! Alternative: go to Houston, they have better doctors there. This office is a joke. Beside Google, I will make sure my experience is heard by my insurance and other relevant bodies such as the Texas Medical Board, governing the Doctor and State Licensing, governing medical assistant and nurse practitioner because they should either improve their service, reduce patient intake, or stop working. Facts: Dr Ducic: rushing, try to push off work to an apprentice. His medical skill is not even that great. Nurses: use the old age narrative "you are not the only patient" to delay. The ultra sound was done June 26th. Until July 25th, a month after a procedure, they still say they have not seen the result. The name of that nightmare nurse is Ana (the medical assistant) because there is another Ana (nurse practitioner), equally bad. Other point: Call in 3 times a day 5 days a week = 15 times a week and meet someone to talk to 1 time. The someone do not give any useful information but very condescending since "you are not the only patient". Waiting 1 month is nothing to them. Go to this Dr all you want but I have been with them for 4 months and I am just fed up because of my condition. If you just started and get a referal to Dr Ducic. GOD BLESS US ALL. PLEASE RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. DO NOT TRY (lol) Cheers.

Dr. Ducic is a very busy man, visiting everyone before/after surgery would more than likely reduce the amount of surgeries he has to perform so I can understand that and shame on those who can't! Put yourself in his shoes. Dr does not tell you what you want to hear he tells you exactly how it is which I love about him, no smoke blown! Just recovering from a pretty terrifying surgery, got myself all worked up (unnecessarily). Dr worked magnificently on my face and for that I will forever be grateful. My pulmonologist told me he is amazed at the work he has seen Dr do, in an emergency setting and with that being said, that's the worst type of surgery to perform, if you can do that well than there isn't anything you can't do. Thanks Dr & staff, you've never let me down.
